Gathering for Migrants’ Rights 16.3.2012

3.3.2012

No Deportations Group and Free Movement Network invite You to spend the afternoon with us and discuss migrants’ rights. We would like to offer asylum seekers and people from the capital region interested in migrants’ rights an opportunity to meet each other. We believe that by sharing experiences and acting together it is possible to change the unjust immigration policy.

Time: 16th of March 2013, 2 pm – 8 pm
Place: Kuvataideakatemia, Sörnäisten rantatie 27 B

Recently the problems with the Finnish asylum policy have been raised in the public discussion. Finland deports people who have escaped violence to countries that are at war. In many cases family reunifications of refugees have been made almost impossible with bureaucracy. Finland also deports asylum seekers to EU countries that have no functioning asylum system by referring to the Dublin regulation.

The day”s program includes:
2 pm Presentations of associations
3 pm Free food
4 pm Discussion about the problems of the asylum policy and how to act together
6 pm Music
8 pm Event ends

During the event at 3pm – 6pm it is possible to get personal advice in things concerning asylum and permissions. In the event it is possible to have translation in French, Persian, Russian and Spanish. The place is accessible.

Welcome!
